The RETREAD Bluegrass
Band performs bluegrass, old time and gospel music. Active in the
tri-state area since 2002, RETREAD has played numerous
prominent venues including the famous Renfro Valley Music
Center in Kentucky. RETREAD's inaugural CD, “No
Detours!” was reviewed in Bluegrass Unlimited magazine.
In addition to playing private
parties and weddings, RETREAD has been featured at the
the Kentucky Wool Festival, Blue Ash Heritage Days, Ohio Sauerkraut
Festival, Historic Southgate House, and symphonic collaborations
with several local symphony orchestras.
Rick Hagee , pianist, has been Director of Music Ministries at Good Shepherd Catholic Church for 25 years. In addition to providing music for many weddings and funerals, he is also active playing keyboards for the rock group, Toast, and the contemporary/lite jazz group, Slice. Rick accompanies CSP concerts, including the 15th Anniversary Concert.
Larry Kinley, vocalist , was born and raised in Cincinnati. After graduating from Purcell High School, Larry began singing professionally, and for many years Larry sang in various nightclubs with pianist Frank Vincent. Larry’s television credits include performing on WCPO’s Uncle Al Show and WLW’s Afternoon Show. Larry was the founder and featured performer of the non profit organization Jazz Alive! Project . Larry delighted residents of Cincinnati area nursing homes by bringing nostalgic 1940’s era music to them. Larry was the cantor at Good Shepherd Catholic Church for over 20 years and appeared on Saturday nights at the Celestial Restaurant. Larry was featured as guest soloist in three of CSP's concerts. Larry passed away in 2012.
Peter Kamnitzer, violist, is the former violist of the famous La Salle Quartet. Mr. Kamnitzer was a professor of music at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music for over 40 years, and coached CSP chamber music ensembles as Master Teacher of Chamber Music. He now resides in Israel with his wife Sophie.
